Collages, constructed on mirrors, presented in groups of seven. Each group corresponding to a completed video work from the Negative Space series—A Smeary Spot, Living Room or Leave No Trace. These collages are comprised of visual research that informs scenes within each video. They incorporate images mined from the internet, resonant materials, and texts, which create an associative atlas for the symbolic mapping of each video work. The underlying mirrors are in some cases covered with black ink or etched, producing an opaque surface. The exposed parts of the mirrors are literally the ‘negative space’ within each collage as well as figuratively—an active reflection that is a constantly shifting surface.
